In 2005 12 young people helped redecorated the orphanage in Kosharitza, Bulgaria.
Leadership, language and writing skills developed for the young people. Before the European programme, some of them have never had the opportunity to be leaders. And at the residential (in the UK, in preparation for Bulgaria) they had to lead teams of four people.
During the programme the team members interacted greatly with the disabled kids as a group and individually. In Bulgaria they were working everyday with both the adult workers at the orphanage and the children living there. As a result of this they are much more experienced and confident now in communicating with people from a variety of backgrounds.
