ABOUT US
Bhagavat Educational Trust is founded in 1997 and now it works on the territory of 4 different continents.
Our heads charity activities include the furtherance of education and the general relief of poverty. Our activities include establishing of social enterprises on the different continents and the results are seen in the creation of stability and steadiness in the marginalized groups (mostly vulnerable children) whose final goal is their social integration.
Our project in Bulgaria, called “Help today Hope tomorrow” began in 2002 and it has affected mostly four institutions for children with physical and mental disabilities.
The project’s goal was to build a social enterprise; there have been seminars with the children homes’ staff members and they were taught professional skills, which they in their turn passed on to the children. Using their newly attained skills, children from the mentioned homes made very interesting things (souvenirs, etc) which were sold. The profits were given back to the project, as insurance for its sustainability.
In this moment the project covers 23 institutions. With the cooperation of the previous ambassador from the United Kingdom of Great Britain- Richard Stag - a charity shop, called “Tradition” was opened (it is located in Sofia, “Vasil Levski” boulevard).
Our ethos is to establish sustainable vocational projects for marginalised groups. Our 'Modus-Operandi' is to work in partnership with Governments or other NGO's in order to avoid the duplication of scarce resources and for cross fertalization of knowledge.
Today we are happy to say that the marginalized groups with which we work include single mothers, unemployed and poor people from the artistic field.
