May
May - volunteer in May and you will work in the biggest in Bulgaria Home for children and juveniles with mental disabilities - situated in the town of Mezdra, Vratca region, BULGARIA.
Situated 120 km from the capital city Sofia, the town of Mezdra is in a deprived industrial area. The Home in Mezdra caters for approximately 100 children, 99% of which have severe physical and mental disabilities. The massive building of the home was initially used as military barracks, later turned into a military hospital and eventually became a Home for disabled children. Attached to the Home there is a Half-way home, which helps the children leaving the smaller homes to successfully integrate into society.
Your volunteering activities can vary greatly depending on your own initiative and can be painting, repairing, drawing murals, also plenty of outdoor activities such as gardening, painting the children's playground, sport activities with the children who are able; as well as of course any form of games and interaction with the children, which can aid their social integration.
Please note that still no specific time in May has been chosen - we will do this at a later stage, trying to accommodate everyone's availability.
Please refer to our TERMS AND CONDITIONS and fill our REGISTRATION FORM now if you want to make a big change to a Child's Life in May!
